CHARACTERISTICS
RBS textile confection and insulation sleeves made of high-temperature-resistant fabrics are used in a wide variety of industries for two main reasons:
- Increase in energy efficiency in areas where other materials cannot be used for insulation
- As contact protection to increase work safety
Regardless of whether in pipeline construction, for large and small engine production or in exhaust gas treatment, RBS technical assemblies stand for a long service life and, if necessary, can be exchanged with innovative lashing and tensioning systems without great effort.
Benefits
- High temperature resistance
- energy efficiency
- contact protection
- Made of various high temperature resistant fabrics
- For pipeline construction, large and small engine production or exhaust gas treatment
- Long service life
- Innovative lashing and tensioning systems easy to exchange
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Which fabric types does SENN use for textile insulation?
Silica fabric for continuous temperatures up to 1000 °C, ceramic-fibre fabric up to 1260 °C and glass-fibre fabric up to 550 °C. All fabrics are asbestos-free and chosen to match the thermal and mechanical load.
Which forms can be fabricated?
Removable insulation jackets, thermal hoods, cover mats, insulation mattresses and moulded parts to customer drawings. The parts are cut and sewn with high-temperature yarn at our Erl workshop and, on request, fitted with fasteners for tool-free mounting.
What does textile insulation protect against in industrial use?
Mainly two risks: contact burns to operators on hot surfaces and heat loss in the thermal process. Textile insulation lowers the surface temperature to touch-safe levels and reduces energy consumption.
Can textile insulation be removed and reused during a turnaround?
Yes. Most parts are fixed with stainless-steel clips, hook-and-loop fasteners or snap hooks and can be removed on site without special tools, cleaned and refitted.
In which industries is textile insulation used?
Power plants, refineries, chemical plants, the food industry, shipbuilding and furnace construction — wherever pipes, valves, flanges or expansion joints must be insulated at high temperatures.

RBS Kompensator GmbH
In 2009, at the request of many customers, RBS Kompensator GmbH was founded as the 100% sister company of KS Kneissl & Senn Technologie GmbH under Senn Beteiligungs GmbH.
Building on the existing know-how about temperature-resistant high-performance fabrics, these began to be manufactured as individual pieces in the form of soft-material compensators by hand in Erl. Gradually, various sewing and welding machines were acquired in order to be able to produce all common shapes (round / square / round on square etc.) in the best possible way.
Together with our team we try to live the idea of the "One Stop Shop" and make sometimes impossible things possible according to our motto: "Viribus unitis - with united forces".
