The Chesterton® 860 Kit is a mouldable polymer gasketing (MPG): a synthetic elastomer applied as a white, thixotropic paste that adheres to vertical and overhead surfaces and cures after the curing agent is sprayed on, without ever sticking to the flange faces. The kit contains two cartridges of polymer compound and two aerosol hardeners and replaces pre-cut gaskets and gasketing sheets: beads are laid directly onto flanges, threaded fittings, hose clamps and O-ring seats, fill voids and scratches up to 6 mm deep and form gaskets from 0.13 mm thick. Operating range -51 °C to 260 °C (intermittent up to 320 °C), resistant to oils, many acids and alkalis as well as steam up to 6.8 kg/cm² at 170 °C; SENN Gruppe supplies the kit as an authorized Chesterton® partner via Sinteca HandelsgmbH ex stock Klosterneuburg, Austria.

Chesterton 860 Kit is a mouldable polymer flat gasket. Two-part, extrudable sealing material allows the formation of extremely thin gaskets of any size and shape. Does not stick to surfaces. Resistance to oils, water, chemicals and solvents, does not stick to surfaces, fills voids and scratches up to 6 mm deep, remains elastic and is suitable for temperatures up to 260 °C and steam up to 6.8 kg/cm2 (100 psi) and 170 °C. Chesterton 860 Kit is used to seal complex mechanical assemblies: gear housings, inspection hatches, bearing housings, fittings, oil pans and tanks, turbine housings, electrical junction boxes and vacuum systems.

    Advantages

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the Chesterton® 860 Kit?

It is a mouldable polymer gasketing (MPG): a high-purity synthetic elastomer applied as a white, thixotropic paste that cures once the curing agent is added. It replaces pre-cut gaskets and gasketing sheets and does not stick to surfaces after curing.

What is included in the kit?

The kit comprises two cartridges of 860 polymer compound and two aerosol cans of the matching curing agent. The polymer compound is applied to one flange face, the curing agent is sprayed onto the opposite side and onto the polymer surface, after which the components are assembled immediately.

Where is the 860 Kit used?

Anywhere a fast, reliable seal is needed: on flanges, threaded and O-ring fittings, hose clamps, as well as on gearbox and bearing housings, inspection hatches, valves, oil pans and tanks, turbine casings, electrical switch boxes and vacuum systems. It fills voids and scratches up to 6 mm deep.

What temperatures and pressures does the material withstand?

The continuous operating range is -51 °C to 260 °C, intermittently up to 320 °C. Immediately after assembly the seal holds around 1 kg/cm², and within a few minutes up to 7 kg/cm². The maximum hydraulic pressure is 211 kg/cm², and steam resistance reaches up to 6.8 kg/cm² at 170 °C.
