The Chesterton 273 Electric Motor Cleaner is a non-flammable, solvent-based degreaser that dissolves heavy and light oils, greases and organic residues and evaporates without leaving a residue. Being non-conductive, non-corrosive, NSF (K2) registered and offering high dielectric strength, it can be applied to running equipment up to 240 V without fire hazard. Suitable for electric motors, fuse boxes, blowers, fans, hoists, switches, transformers and cables. What is the Chesterton 273 Electric Motor Cleaner used for?
It degreases and cleans electrical equipment without damaging wiring, rubber parts, insulation or contacts. Typical applications are electric motors, fuse boxes, blowers, fans, hoists, switches, transformers and cables. It dissolves oils, greases and electrically conductive deposits that could otherwise cause short circuits.
May the Chesterton 273 be applied to running motors?
Yes. The cleaner is non-flammable, non-conductive and has a high dielectric strength (24 kV per ASTM D 877). It can be used on running equipment and electrical systems up to 240 V. Before use, observe the safety data sheet and the applicable safety regulations.
How is the cleaner applied?
Parts can be immersed in the cleaner, sprayed or treated with a brush. Remove residues with dry compressed air and allow to dry before returning to operation. Re-lubricate the parts afterwards if required. On plastics, paints or rubber, test compatibility beforehand on a small area.
