The Chesterton® 294 CSD is a fast-acting solvent-based industrial degreaser that rapidly dissolves dirt, grease, oil, asphalt, adhesives and lubricant deposits, shortening maintenance downtime. It evaporates quickly, dries residue-free and is compatible with most surface materials, making it safe on all metals as well as on most plastics, rubber and coatings (test at a non-critical spot before use). Typical applications include degreasing chains, bearings, gearboxes, air tools, brakes and clutches, as well as cleaning optical and electrical components before maintenance or relubrication.

Chesterton 294 Industrial Degreaser CSD - a fast-acting industrial all-purpose degreaser that reduces the time required for mechanical maintenance tasks and costly downtime. Fast evaporation, residue-free, safe on all metals, safe on most plastics, rubber and coatings - test before use, low aromatics content, no HCFC, CFC, TCE, n-PBr, removes dust, dirt, oil and other industrial contaminants, dissolves resins, polymers, adhesives and petroleum residues, flash point (ASTM D 93, DIN 51 755) <-- 18°C. Suitable for use on chains and ropes, gear housings, dies and moulds, bearings, compressed-air tools, pneumatic tools, forklifts, brakes and clutches, material-handling machines, parts and tools.

What is the Chesterton® 294 CSD and on what basis does it work?
The 294 CSD is a fast-acting solvent-based industrial degreaser. It is a blend of polar and non-polar solvents and is not soluble in water. It dissolves dirt, oily grime, grease, oil, asphalt, resins, polymers and adhesives, and evaporates quickly without leaving residue.
Where can the 294 CSD be used and on which materials is it safe?
Typical applications are chains and cables, gearboxes, dies and moulds, bearings, air and air-spray tools, forklift trucks, brakes and clutches, as well as parts and tools. It is safe on all metals and on most plastics, rubber and coatings. On painted surfaces, plastics or rubber, test beforehand at a non-critical spot.
How is the 294 CSD applied?
Before use on sensitive surfaces, apply a small amount at a non-critical spot, wait about 15 minutes and check whether the surface has been attacked or softened. If damage occurs, do not use the product. The 294 CSD is supplied as a 397 g aerosol can.
What safety and storage instructions must be observed?
The 294 CSD is flammable (flash point -18 °C). It must not be used on live electrical equipment or near ignition sources; the usual precautions for flammable liquids apply. Store below 38 °C and away from ignition sources; unopened, the shelf life is two years from the date of manufacture. Observe the safety data sheet before use.
