Chesterton® 601 chain inner-bearing lubrication is a penetrating light oil from the A.W. Chesterton Company with ISO VG 22 and an operating range of -23 °C to 150 °C. It enters the inner bearings between the chain links and leaves a non-drying lubricant film; high-pressure additives increase load-bearing capacity, detergents and corrosion inhibitors protect against dirt and corrosion. NSF H2 registered. SENN Gruppe distributes the product as an authorized Chesterton® partner through Sinteca HandelsgmbH, ex stock Klosterneuburg, in container sizes from 350 g to 208 l.

Chesterton® 601 is a penetrating light oil (ISO VG 22) that enters the tight tolerances between the chain links and lubricates the precision bearings inside the chain. It forms a long-lasting, non-drying lubricant film that lowers friction at the bearing surfaces and thereby reduces wear and the energy demand of the chain drive. It is used for chain drives on assembly lines, conveyor belts, packaging machines and lifting gear, as well as in circulating lubrication systems. SENN Gruppe supplies the product as an authorized Chesterton® partner through Sinteca HandelsgmbH, ex stock Klosterneuburg, Austria.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Chesterton® 601 used for?

Chesterton® 601 lubricates the inner bearings of drive and conveyor chains. Typical applications are chain drives on assembly lines, conveyor belts, packaging and lifting-gear machines, link and roller systems, as well as forklifts and chainsaws. In robotic installations it also acts as an anti-spatter coating that makes removing weld spatter easier.

    How is Chesterton® 601 applied?

The oil is sprayed on, or applied to each chain link with a squirt can or long-spout oil can, distributed evenly and re-lubricated as required. It can also be used in circulating lubrication systems. For high-pressure surface lubrication with water and corrosion protection, it is combined with Chesterton® Spraflex® 715.

Why does Chesterton® 601 penetrate the chain inner bearings so well?

It is a thin, low-viscosity light oil (ISO VG 22, 22 cSt at 40 °C). This low viscosity enables rapid deep penetration into the tight tolerances between the chain links. After penetrating, it leaves behind a long-lasting, non-drying lubricant film that permanently supplies the oil-starved precision bearings.

In which container sizes is Chesterton® 601 available?

Chesterton® 601 is available as an aerosol can (350 g), bucket (5 l), canister (20 l) and drum (208 l). The product covers the operating temperature range of -23 °C to 150 °C in all containers. SENN Gruppe supplies ex stock Klosterneuburg, Austria.
