    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    What is Chesterton® 615 high-temperature grease?

Chesterton® 615 is a universal NLGI 2 lubricating grease on a petroleum base, thickened with a polymer technology. It contains corrosion inhibitors, is compatible with most common greases, and contains no heavy metals. You can obtain it from SENN Gruppe as an authorized Chesterton® partner ex stock Klosterneuburg, Austria.

    Where is Chesterton® 615 used?

The grease is suitable for industrial plants with high water content and high temperatures. Typical applications include pulp and paper mills, mining, steel, aluminium and metal processing, power plants, mechanical engineering (conveyor belts, bearings, presses, joints), and shipping.

    How is Chesterton® 615 applied?

Apply the grease with a grease gun or brush. Wipe the grease nipples clean before fitting to avoid contamination, and do not overfill the bearing — fill only the voids. Re-lubricate at regular intervals, more frequently at operating temperatures above 170 °C.

What temperature range does Chesterton® 615 cover?

The operating temperature range is between -40 °C and 204 °C; more frequent re-lubrication is required at temperatures above 170 °C. The drop point is above 300 °C, and the base oil viscosity is 500 cSt (40 °C) and 32 cSt (100 °C).
