Chesterton® 690 FG is a solvent-free multi-purpose lubricant based on ultra-pure mineral oil (ISO VG 22, flash point 171 °C), developed for use in food, beverage and pharmaceutical plants with incidental product contact. Its high capillary action lets the lubricant creep into tight tolerances, providing a colourless, non-dripping lubrication on chains, open gears, wire ropes, bearings and on conveyor and filling systems. It protects against rust and corrosion, resists acid fumes and can be used in a temperature range from -9 °C to 120 °C.

Es ist ein kosteneffektives Multi-Purpose-Schmiermittel hoher Qualität, das keine Flecken erzeugt und gute Tiefenwirkung hat. Es ist von NSF für den zufälligen Kontakt mit Nahrungsmitteln genehmigt und erfüllt die FDA-Vorschriften. Der Schmierstoff kann mit folgenden Eingeschaften punkten: Kein Auspressen des Schmierstoffs möglich, nicht tropfend, selbsthaftender, flexibler Schmierstoff, Beständig gegen Säuredämpfe und protects against Rost und Korrosion. Chesterton 690 FB(E) wird bei Chains, offenen Zahnrädern, Drahtseilen und -kabeln wie auch Maschinen in nassen oder Unterwasser-Umgebungen angewendet.

What is Chesterton® 690 FG lubricant?
Chesterton® 690 FG is a solvent-free multi-purpose lubricant based on ultra-pure mineral oil with a viscosity of ISO VG 22. It delivers 100 % active product with no volatile diluents, creeps into tight tolerances through high capillary action and at the same time protects against rust and corrosion.
Where is the 690 FG lubricant used?
It is suitable for chains, open gears, wire ropes, bearings as well as conveyor belts and filling machines, especially in food, beverage and pharmaceutical plants. Typical applications are can and bottle filling lines, meat packaging and bakery systems, and stainless steel pumps. The operating range extends from -9 °C to 120 °C.
Is Chesterton® 690 FG approved for food contact?
Yes. The lubricant is NSF H1 registered (Reg. No. 133969 for bulk packs, 133933 for the aerosol can) and approved for incidental food contact. It complies with FDA guidelines CFR 178.3620 and 178.3570. NSF H1 means an approval for occasional, technically unavoidable contact, not for the intended addition to food.
How is the 690 FG lubricant applied?
The liquid grades can be applied with spray equipment or oil cans, the aerosol variant via the spray can. Use the spot-spray nozzle to apply the product evenly and let it act for about one minute for a strong penetrating effect. A single application is usually sufficient.
