Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Chesterton® 725 used for?
Chesterton® 725 simplifies the mechanical assembly of screws, bolts, flanges, press fits, pump sleeves, valve stems, bushings, flat gaskets and bearings. It prevents seizing, rust and corrosion and protects threads, so that parts remain readily reusable after disassembly.
On which materials can 725 be used?
The anti-seize adheres to steel, stainless steel, iron, aluminium, copper, brass, titanium and similar metals. It is used in, among others, the automotive and chemical industries, in foundries, power plants and refineries. It must not be used on oxygen systems.
How is Chesterton® 725 applied?
The surfaces to be coated should be free of dirt, oil, grease, moisture, rust and dust. Then apply the product generously to the surfaces being assembled. Observe the material safety data sheet before use.
Up to what temperature is Chesterton® 725 resistant?
The anti-seize is usable up to 1425 °C. At temperatures above 538 °C, the molten aluminium provides additional lubrication that goes beyond the effect of nickel alone. The drop point is above 316 °C, the flash point is 95 °C.
