Chesterton 785 is a parting and lubricating compound (anti-seize) for assembling and disassembling threaded connections under high temperatures and pressures. The ultra-fine inorganic solid particles act like tiny ball bearings, filling surface irregularities and thus preventing seizing on bolts, screws, pipe threads, press fits, pump sleeves and splined shafts. How is Chesterton 785 applied?
The surfaces must be free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants. Apply the product generously to threads, flanges or other mating surfaces. Because the coefficient of friction is balanced, tightening torques generally do not need to be recalculated.
Does Chesterton 785 contain toxic heavy metals?
No. Chesterton 785 uses a synthetic base material and contains no toxic heavy metals such as nickel or lead. According to the data sheet, the product also carries NSF H2 registration number 133960.
