Flower Meadow - Sustainability

Senn Group Drives Biodiversity 🌿 and Sustainability 🌱 – Together with the Community for a Thriving Nature 🌼

The Senn Group stands not only for economic responsibility, but also for a sustainable approach to the environment and resources. With a special project, we have created a biotope in a traditional meadow together with dedicated volunteers, the municipality of Kufstein, and the province of Tyrol, in order to counteract the danger of monoculture.

This undertaking reflects the conviction of the Senn Family: Sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a way of life 🌍.

Blooming Diversity as an Answer to Monoculture 🌼

In a time when agricultural areas are increasingly giving way to uniform cultivation methods, we consciously focus on strengthening ecosystems. In cooperation with the people of Kufstein, and with the support of the municipality and the province of Tyrol, we have used native flowering plants:

Common Rockrose, Allium schoenoprasum, Betonica officinalis & Co. Dianthus carthusianorum 128 pcs. Leucanthemum vulgare 226 pcs. Prunella grandiflora 128 pcs. Betonica officinalis 24 pcs. Succisa pratensis 60 pcs.

Sustainability in the Company and in Nature 🌱

Our attitude towards sustainability is multifaceted: within the company, we ensure responsible use of resources – from energy-efficient production to a circular economy model. At the same time, we know that protecting biodiversity does not end at the company premises. Every private space, every meadow, every strip of land can be part of a lively, diverse nature. With our flowering strip project, we show how easy it is to take action – and how much impact can be created when communities get involved.

A Thank You to the Supporters 👥

“Without the active help of the volunteers, the expertise of the local authorities, and the commitment of the province of Tyrol, this project would not have been so successful,” emphasizes Franz Senn. “It is an example of how business, politics, and citizens can work together to develop solutions for the future.”

The backgrounds of the volunteers are diverse: farmers, biologists, gardeners, municipal representatives, and nature enthusiasts. They all have in common: the appreciation for native plants and the commitment to preserve them for future generations. “Community is the focus here. That is, all decisions are made by the group itself,” explains Teresa Müllauer, the project coordinator for Tyrol Unterland. After it was decided which plants should be strengthened and propagated, the region was explored for these target species and the valuable seeds were collected. For example, Betonica officinalis, Betonica officinalis, Great Burnet, Leucanthemum vulgare, Allium schoenoprasum, and Dianthus carthusianorum were collected.

A Future in Color – Our Vision 🌈

With projects like these, we want not only to provide impulses for regional biodiversity, but also to encourage: everyone can make a contribution – whether by collecting wild seeds, creating nesting boxes, or using resources consciously. For the Senn Group, this is a milestone on the path to a more sustainable future, in which economy and nature are in harmony.
