Chesterton® 775 Moisture Shield is a water-displacing, petroleum-based thin-film coating that displaces water molecules from the metal and leaves a transparent, straw-coloured lubricating film. The coating protects stored or in-transit parts against flash rust for months, penetrates even the smallest tolerances and joints thanks to its low viscosity, and does not alter the electrical properties of the parts. As an authorized Chesterton® partner, the SENN Gruppe supplies the product through Sinteca HandelsgmbH ex stock Klosterneuburg, Austria in aerosol can, canister and drum.

What is Chesterton® 775 Moisture Shield and how does it work?
Chesterton® 775 is a water-repellent, petroleum-based thin-film coating. Active components absorb water molecules and displace existing moisture from the metal. What remains is a transparent, straw-coloured lubricating film that prevents oxidation and flash rust during transport and storage for months.
For which applications and parts is the product suitable?
Chesterton® 775 protects stored and in-transit parts, semi-finished parts and electrical systems against corrosion. Thanks to its low viscosity it penetrates even the smallest tolerances and joints. It has proven particularly effective in marine applications and wherever water-soluble machining fluids promote flash rust.
How is Chesterton® 775 applied and removed?
The product can be sprayed, brushed, dipped or wiped on; the application temperature is between 10 °C and 43 °C. It must be removed before electroplating or coating, and reapplied if required. It is removed with solvent-based degreasers such as Chesterton® 274 or water-based ones such as Chesterton® 803.
Does Chesterton® 775 affect the electrical properties of treated parts?
No. The film displaces water without altering the electrical properties of the parts and shows excellent effect after flooding and in damp environments. It is therefore suitable for drying and protecting wet electrical equipment. The aerosol variant carries the NSF H2 registration number 134015.
