Tightly braided packings are available with round, square, or rectangular cross-sections. Knitted packings are created by knitting different types of yarn into a round, stretchy cord. All variants (knitted or braided) can be impregnated with PTFE, graphite, or other special products.

Depending on the application and temperature, the following materials are available:

  • Ceramic fiber (1260°C): Ceramic fibers require reinforcement with glass fibers (reduces the classification temperature of the textiles to 850°C, as the glass reinforcement crystallizes at this temperature) or metal fibers (classification temperature 1260°C) in order to be processed into yarns.
  • Biosoluble fiber (1200°C): Biosoluble fibers require reinforcement with glass fibers (reduces the classification temperature of the textiles to 850°C, as the glass reinforcement crystallizes at this temperature) or metal fibers (classification temperature 1200°C) in order to be processed into yarns.
  • Silicate fiber (1000°C)
  • HT glass fiber (750°C)
  • E-glass fiber (550°C)
