Lightweight
20–30% lighter than conventional fire protection insulation. A-60 steel bulkhead with just 2.4 kg/m² insulation.
Certified
DNV, MED, IMO FTP Code, EN 13381-4. No binder — no smoke, no toxic fumes in fire.
PRODUCT TYPE
FireMaster® Marine Plus Blankets are bio-soluble fire protection blankets made from Superwool®/FireMaster 607® fibre for passive fire protection of steel, aluminium and composite structures on ships, offshore platforms and in buildings.
The blankets consist of alkaline earth silicate fibres (AES) with a composition of SiO₂ (~65%), CaO (~29.5%) and MgO (~5.5%). No binder — no smoke or toxic gases generated during fire exposure.
MATERIAL
Alkaline Earth Silicate fibre (AES wool) based on SiO₂ and CaO with MgO. Bio-soluble — fibres are rapidly cleared from the human body. Classification temperature 1200°C per FireMaster 607® specification.
Non-carcinogenic per Note Q, EU Regulation EC/1272/2008 (CLP). EUCEB certified. Meets UK MOD Defence Standard 02-713 (toxicity index <0.5).

Marine Plus Blanket
Standard fire protection blanket for marine and offshore applications. DNV and MED approved. Density 64–128 kg/m³, thickness 25–50 mm. Achieves A-60 and H-class ratings on steel bulkheads and decks.
Marine Plus Faced Blanket
Identical fibre core with foil encapsulation: fibreglass scrim + aluminised polyester + aluminium foil. Density 48–128 kg/m³, thickness 12–60 mm. Protects the fibre and simplifies installation.
Water Repellent Blanket
Water-repellent treated Marine Plus variant for applications exposed to moisture or condensation. Same fire protection performance, additional resistance to water uptake during transport and installation.
